
Motorola and Yahoo! have entered into a new, multi-year agreement to offer Yahoo! Go for Mobile on new Motorola mobile phones.
Under the agreement, Motorola will pre-load and prominently feature Yahoo! Go for Mobile on optimized handsets world-wide. Yahoo! Go for Mobile brings an integrated suite of services such as email, search, address book, etc, offering consumers a personalized Internet experience through their mobile phones.
Scott Durchslag, corporate vice president - product and experience invention, mobile devices, Motorola, said "This agreement is an important next step in showing the world the best of what can happen when Motorola s seamless mobility meets Yahoo!'s connected life services. Our collaboration with Yahoo! on exciting future versions of Yahoo! Go for Mobile will ensure that our customers and consumers get the most optimized Yahoo! experience possible on the coolest mobile devices."
According to Marco Boerries, senior vice president - connected life, Yahoo!, "Consumers are no longer tethered to just accessing Internet on their desktop computer, so we are bringing the best of Yahoo! s services to their mobile phones that they always have with them, and use multiple times a day. Together, Yahoo! and Motorola are making it easier than ever before for consumers to seamlessly access their favorite Web services, information, and content across both their personal computer and Mobile Phone ."
Reportedly, Motorola and Yahoo! will jointly market Motorola devices with Yahoo! Go for Mobile pre-installed on them.
The service will be made available in the first half of 2007 in a number of markets across America, Europe, and Asia. Interestingly, Yahoo! earlier tied-up with Nokia to offer Yahoo! Go for Mobile on select Nokia phones free-of-charge.
